Enhancing Transparency: New OPBO Policy on Communicating Revisions

Published on January 22, 2026

The OPBO announces a new policy to correct and publicly communicate errors.

The Office of the Parliamentary Budget Officer (OPBO) is pleased to announce the implementation of a new policy that formalizes and standardizes its approach to communicating revisions to published reports, notes, and additional analyses. This policy strengthens the Office’s commitment to providing parliamentarians and stakeholders with timely, reliable, transparent, and independently produced fiscal and economic analyses.

Under this policy, the Office commits to promptly addressing any errors identified in its publications and communicating them through a structured and transparent revision process. Starting today, when revisions are necessary, users will be notified through a newly implemented errata log, accessible from the splash page of all new OPBO publications. All material changes (those that affect a report's main results or conclusions) will also be communicated through a dedicated additional analysis and reported in the Office's annual report.

Questions regarding this policy may be directed to the OPBO.
